1. Register for an SBA Account
Before applying, you must have:
- A SAM.gov registration (active)
- A Login.gov account (used to access certifications.sba.gov)

Go to
certifications.sba.gov and log in with your
Login.gov credentials.
2. Start the HUBZone Application
Once logged in:
- Click "Start New Application"
- Select “HUBZone” from the certification options

1. Business Information
- Legal Business Name (must match SAM.gov)

2. Principal Office Location
- Upload lease/mortgage or utility bill proving HUBZone location
- Confirm at least 35% of your employees reside in a HUBZone

3. Employee Details
- List all employees (full- and part-time, W-2 only)
- Indicate whether each employee lives in a HUBZone
- Upload documentation like:
- Recent paystubs
- Driver’s license or utility bills showing residence
4. Ownership and Control
- Must be at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizens
- For SDVOSBs or 8(a)s, this may already be satisfied
- Upload:
- Operating agreement or bylaws
- Stock ledger or ownership certificates
